St. Mary’s, Hillsboro, worships in new space

The congregation of St. Mary’s, Hillsboro, who earlier this year lost their historic building to people who left The Episcopal Church, worshiped in their new space on Sunday, June 27, 2021. For several weeks, they worshiped in a borrowed office space while they looked for something more permanent. 2021 diocesan picnic a hit

More than 150 people from congregations from Wichita Falls to Hillsboro enjoyed a fun afternoon with good friends and good food at the 2021 diocesan picnic. The event began with a worship service in which people from six congregations were confirmed, received, or reaffirmed their faith. Dr. Wil Gafney named Hulsey Professor of Hebrew Bible

Dr. Wil Gafney has been named The Right Rev. Sam B. Hulsey Professor of Hebrew Bible effective June 1, 2021. Dr. Gafney joined the Brite faculty in Fall 2014 as Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible. Dr. Gafney holds a M.Div. from Howard University School of Divinity in Washington, D.C. and a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from Duke University. In a June 23 letter to the congregation of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Keller, Senior Warden Keen Haynes wrote, “Dear Parish Family, It is with great pleasure that I announce that the Vestry has elected the candidate recommended by the Search Committee, the Rev.
